Kamle, June 10: In a devastating landslide incident that occurred today, four people lost their lives and five others sustained injuries after a passenger Sumo was buried under the massive debris on the Godak-Raga road. The incident took place between the towns of Godak and Raga in the Kamle district, while the vehicle was en route from Daporijo to Itanagar.

Kamle District Superintendent of Police, Taru Gusar, confirmed that the landslide occurred sometime between 8:00 and 8:35 this morning. The Sumo driver also suffered severe injuries during the unfortunate event. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the landslide and assess the safety of the affected area.

Efforts to rescue and evacuate the victims were swiftly initiated by a collaborative response involving the police force, medical teams, local villages, and the general public. Raga Hospital, located nearby, is currently providing medical care and treatment to the injured patients.
