Ten teams of contact tracing have been constituted and trained to liaise, help and support the Covid 19 positive patient : DMO Capital

ITANAGAR, 12 May: The district medical officer (DMO) Itanagar capital region (ICR) Dr Mandip Perme has informed that 10 new contact tracing teams, 5 for Naharlagun and another 5 for Itanagar have been constituted. Briefing the press here on Wednesday DMO said these teams have been trained to conduct contact tracing of the Covid infected patients.

The DMO also shared that the Triage centre at Ashoka hotel is almost ready and it will start collecting samples from Friday onwards. “X Ray machine has been installed and other required logistic support is also being readied,” said DMO Perme. Further he shared that from April 1 onwards till now 17990 tests including RAT, RTPCR, TRUNAT have been conducted in the ICR.

“1182 people tested positive. Of them 416 are in home isolation, 57 at Lekhi CC, 9 at DCHC Midpu and 39 with serious condition at DCH Chimpu,” said Dr Perme.  The DMO expressed displeasure over reports of several people violating the containment (lockdown) norms.

“People are going out without any urgent work which is wrong. I appeal to them to at least respect the containment (lockdown) period. Please don’t go out, stay home and help us to break the chain of infection. All the frontline workers are working hard to save lives,” added Dr Perme.
