Tapor Pullom return demand got louder, Mass protest and rally began in Si Yomi district in state

ITANAGAR, MARCH 5 : The release for Tapor Pullom a resident of Remang village under Si Yomi district who was allegedly abducted by the People Liberation Army (PLA) China has been getting louder when hundreds of people irrespective of designation and affiliation today carried out mass protest and rally demanding safe release.

The peaceful protest rally was jointly organized by the All Shajee Youth Association (ASYA) in collaboration with Adi Baane Kebang Si Yomi district unit. Similarly a peaceful rally was held at various parts of the Si Yomi district including at Monigong and Tato.  The members holding leaflets, banners and posters holding hands have been shouting slogans for safe release of Pullom.

The rally and procession was held with slogans “ we want Tapor Pullom safe return from China”. They also demanded that the state government should constantly remain in touch with the centre and consistently pursue the matter with the central government for safe release and safe return to back home. 

The leaders of both organizations have urged the government of India to talk with their China counterpart for the safe return of Tapor Pullom.

It is to mention that the Member of parliament (Arunachal East) Tapir Gao recently has met the family member of Pullom at Pasighat and has assured to take up the matter at the highest level.

Meanwhile, Gao in an interview to media recently has informed that he has raised the issue in parliament and drawn the attention of the union government and demanded that the matter may be taken up with China counterpart for safe release of Tapor Pullom and his whereabouts.

The protesters says that the Pullom is not a terrorist and spy and the Chinese PLA should without any delay they should handover him to the Indian government. We are living in a border area and due to some reason like collecting herbs the PLA has abducted him and needs to be returned.

Meanwhile, the state government based on the representation of family members in February 2022 last has written to both the Deputy Commissioner of Si Yomi and West Siang for detail on the Tapor Pullom abduction case by Chinese PLA during September 2015. The state government has also sought detail of the incident and the effort made till date to trace out the missing person. The letter written to both districts said.
