Naharlagun, Aug 25: Bomken Basar, APPS, the newly joined Superintendent of Police of Kurung Kumey District on Thursday visited Nyapin circle to take stock of law and order situation and to inspect Nyapin Police Station. The SP was accompanied by Rishi Longdo, APPS, the newly joined DySP of Kurung Kumey District and Krishna Kumar, OC PS Nyapin.
The SP and team visited Govt. Higher Secondary School Nyapin and interacted with the teachers and students of Class X and Class XII. One white board was donated to the Principal of the school from Kurung Kumey District Police. The students were advised while stressing on the importance of discipline.
Later, the SP interacted with the gaon bura, panchayat members and public at ADC office meeting hall. He warned them about the growing menace of drug abuse even in the rural side and briefed them about the role they need to play along with the police to curb this menace. He advised them to report to the police about any heinous crime and crime against women and children. The importance of conservation of flora and fauna was also highlighted. DySP Kurung Kumey also spoke on the occasion.
