SEC announced by-election to vacant panchayat constituency and notification to be issued on June 14

ITANAGAR, Jun 07: The State Election Commission (SEC) conducted by elections of One Hundred & Thirty (130) vacancies of Gram Panchayat constituencies and One (1) Zilla Parishad Constituency spread over Twenty districts of the state.

Public notification would be issued on 14 June next, filling of candidate’s nomination on 21 June and scrutiny of the candidates on 27 June, informed State Election Commissioner (SEC) Hage Kojeen.

101 polling stations have been identified including more than 100 officers, he added.

“One or two Special election observer officers will be invited from other states,” said commissioner.

Candidates have been directed to maintain special expenditure registration, which is Rs. 50,000 for Gram Panchayat Constituency and Rs. 2 lakhs for Zilla Parishad Constituency. And to submit the expenditure registration to the respective District Election Officer (DEO).

To ensure holding of free and fair and peaceful elections to all the GPC and ZPC, Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will be implemented, where no party or candidates shall indulge in any party which may create mutual hatred or cause tension between different castes and communities and religion, said Commissioner.
