Search continues for the missing passenger of the Scorpio : SDPO Doimukh

ITANAGAR, JULY 15 ; The search operation has continued for the 2nd day of the missing passenger of the ill fated Mahindra Scorpio which met with an accident in Toru circle of Sagalee sub-division on Wednesday till it got dark on Thursday. Informed Doimukh SDPO Bomken Basar.

Two persons traveling in a silver colour Mahindra Scorpio bearing registration No- AR 05 / 5009 met with a fatal accident near Balapu village of Toru Circle in Sagalee sub-division on Wednesday morning. The person driving the vehicle has survived and is under medical treatment at TRIHMS, Naharlagun. He said.

As per information the Scorpio vehicle was coming from Seppa towards Itanagar which was driven by one Bishop Nampe, 29 yrs, S/O Sania Nampe of village Nampe, PO/PS Khenewa/Chayang Tajo and one lady named Amak Dolo, 29 yrs, D/O  Kiran Dolo of village Bodo PO/PS Sawa/ Chayang Tajo District East Kameng were traveling in the ill fated vehicle.  He said.

The vehicle which they were traveling met with a serious accident and fell down about 200 meters into a deep gorge from NH-13 to Pare river. The driver of the vehicle got grievous injuries and evacuated to CHC Sagalee who later was referred to TRIHMS, Naharlagun for further treatment. He said.

The Scorpio vehicle with lady Amak Dolo is still missing. The police team  led by OC Sagalee Inspector Oge Darin and SI Joram Takap carried out a search operation with a local team with the help of NDRF personnel led by its Deputy Commandant and other senior officers. He said.

The NDRF team who joined the search operation on Wednesday afternoon has also carried out their work for more than two hours in late evening but in vain. The search operation began early morning on Thursday but till late evening no achievement was made. He said.

The NDRF team has tried a big size magnet in the rivers, two boats with expert divers were also deployed in the search but could not make any achievement till late evening. However the search operation will be resumed on Friday morning. SDPO added.

The search operation was also witnessed by MLA Hayang Mangfi, Sagalee ADC Audil Toko and others.

Due to inclement weather and heavy rain and heavy current/huge volume of muddy water discharge in the Pare river has badly affected the search operation.

He further said that the alert and information has been passed to the downstream Doimukh Police station and Gumto Police outpost to share in their respective locality.
