PMGSY-I & II review meeting in Ziro: Ministers Stress Timely Completion of Rural Road Projects

Ziro, Date: The Rural Works Circle, Yachuli orchestrated a pivotal PMGSY-I & II Review Meeting at the Golden Jubilee conference hall of District Secretariat in Ziro today. The meeting, presided over by RWD Minister Honchun Ngandam and attended by Agriculture and Allied Minister Tage Taki, NT Glow (Secretary RWD), Bamin Nime (DC Ziro), Chief Engineer (PMGSY) Nyai Rigia, RWD engineers, and contractors, aimed to evaluate the progress of Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) works across Lower Subansiri, Kamle, Upper Subansiri, Kra Daadi, and Kurung Kumey districts.

The primary focus of the meeting was to take stock of the various PMGSY projects under these districts, with a completion target set for March 31, 2024, as directed by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Both ministers expressed appreciation for the diligent efforts of engineers and contractors working towards meeting the ambitious deadline. However, they urged all stakeholders to collaborate on developing a feasible working plan to ensure the timely completion of the remaining road works.

During the interactive session, Minister Honchun Ngandam issued a strong directive for department officers to be present at the road sites, providing cooperation to contractors and overseeing monitoring and verification processes. The ministers also cautioned contractors that failure to complete the works within the stipulated timeframe might lead to termination or blacklisting of their firms by the Rural Works Department. The meeting concluded with a call for accelerated efforts to meet the designated deadline and boost the morale of all involved in the PMGSY projects.
