Oriah festival celebrated at Kanubari in Longding

ITANAGAR, FEB 16 : The Wancho community of Kanubari township has joined rest of people and celebrated the famous and important festival Oriah with traditional fervor and gaiety at Kanuabri in Longding district. 

Minister PHED, DOTCL Wangki lowang, Lekang MLA  J.Ete Deori and Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering attended the celebration as chief guest, guest of honor and special guest respectively. 

ZPC Namsai, Hod’s Kanubari, Council Chief’s, PRI’s, GB, and the Tetseo Sisters folk artists from Nagaland and locals in large numbers take part in the celebration. 

Several ritualistic performances, traditional songs and dances were part of the celebration. The public enjoyed the and also have delectable wancho cuisine that showcases their rich cultural heritage, traditions, and customs.

Minister PHED etc Lowang has emphasized to the Wancho people to keep the aged old cultural heritage and traditional value of society and pass on the younger generation. 

Kanubari local MLA G D Wangsu thanks the people and asks the people to always have faith in the government which is doing its best possible for all round development of area, district and state. He assured continued development and sought continued support of the public.
