ITANAGAR, DEC 13 : The Nyelam Welfare Society (NWS) on Tuesday has lauded Chief Minister Pema Khandu for recognisation of martyr Nyelam Tebi and announcement to construct statue at native village and renaming of a government institution.
In a press release issued by NWS Chairman Neelam Taje said that ‘ on the onset of the winter, the festive season the Nyelam Welfare Society(NWS) being NCO of Nyishi Elite Society(NES) attended the general conference of NES at Yachuli held recently. The Chief Minister Pema Khandu who attended as chief Guest along with his cabinet colleague and during his speech to huge gathering at XIIIth NES conference he made a special niche for Martyr Nyelam Tebi, who sacrifice his life for the mother land India in Tawang axis at Bumla in full scale war between Indo- China 1962.’.
The Chief Minister has announced to dedicate the memorial / war memorial statue at his native place Deed village to commemorate his supreme sacrifice is a laudable effort to remember the supreme sacrifice made by the martyr. The NWS Chairman Neelam Taje said.
The Nyelam Welfare Society (NWS) overwhelmingly welcome his announcement for the Martyr which is very encouraging to the arm forces and younger generation. The Society extended heartfelt thanks to Pema Khandu Chief Minister for being officially recognized Martyr Nyelam Tebi, Son of Lt. Nyelam Tath of village Deed under Deed Circle of, now Lower Subansiri District, the then, Subansiri District under North Eastern Frontier Agency (NEFA), now Arunachal Pradesh who had joined in 5th Assam Rifle at Kimin, now in Papum Pare District who sacrifices his life during the Indo-China War in 1962 at Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh as Martyr of the Nation. The release said.
Further, the Society also thanks to the Chief minister, for his personal initiative, going to dedicate a memorial in the name of Martyr Nyelam Tebi at his native Deed village. And also for his personal initiated in rectifying the name of RFN TABE DAFLA to NEELAM TEBI at National War Memorial, New Delhi and State War Memorial at Tawang as well.
