ITANAGAR, DEC 28 : The National institute of Technology (NIT) Jote 9th convocation held here at DK Convention centre, Itanagar as the rod condition leading to Jote and Sangdupoto circle is under construction and in bad shape due unprecedented rainfall.
Former Guwahati NIT Director and chancellor of Nagaland central university Prof. D. N. Buragohain attended as chief guest; NIT Silchar Director Prof. Rajat Gupta attended the convocation as guest of honour while NIT Jote Prof. Pinakeshwar Mahanta preside over the function.
Suchitra Kumar Mandal of mechanical engineering and Navarishi Mahanta of Assam were given Chairman’s gold medal. Kurakula Anusha of Tilangana, Gautam Singh of Utter Pradesh, Rajeev Kumar Thakur of Bihar, Anish Kumar NIrala of Bihar, Pallavi Roy of Tripura, Manish Kumar Gupta of Bihar, Suchitra Kumar Mandal of Orissa were given institute gold medal. Sachin G.M of Karnataka, Navrishi Mahanta of Assam, Ishan Ayus of Orissa, Aditya Roy of West Bengal were given with Master of technology/master of science certificate and medal by the dignitaries for their excellence in the academic performances.
Addressing the convocation ceremony as chief guest, Prof Buragohain said that we have to protect our own interest and try doing anything what we want and one day we will get the success. We should learn from our failures so that we can correct it and overcome it and win the race one day and become successful. He said.
There are challenges in all the way in all profession and nothing is easy but to overcome all the hurdles the technology and knowledge gained at NIT need to be implemented and if your don’t try you will never win the race and will remain at far behind.
If you want to be a successful human being and a good professional you have to carry forward your professional skill and knowledge step by step and one day you will reached the goal and become a successful person. Prof. Buragohain said.
While motivating the students and teaching fraternity, the Prof Buragohain said that nothing in this world is impossible but the engineering knowledge, technology which keep on changing and skill you gain in academic time has to be implemented and do the work which you are told to do while following your good health and work with courage and devote yourself fully for the cause with a commitment and dedication and result will be seen to everyone. He added.
He further said that if someone want to do good work through education and technology which has been educated them and they should determined to become a fine gentleman and good professional and serve the society, state and country and success will reached to you.
Guest of honour also delivered his best of the best speech to motivate the qualified students who will be serving as professional in various part of country and world and ask the student to give back to society and also remain tough with for alma matters.
NIT Jote Director Prof. Mahanta said that NIT AP is working from its permanent campus from August 2021 but due to bad road condition the 9th convocation was held here at DK Convocation, Itanagar. The celebration was successful with participation of all. He said.
Two hundred three students were awarded degree with forty six M Tech, Ten PG and rest were B Tech and most of these students got their job with 78 % placement of last year passed out students. He said.
Ninety % infrastructure of NIT at Jote has been completed, work like central library, administrate block, road treatment plant and it would take around a month and it would be completed. Director NIT said.
He thanks each and everyone those are attached with NIT and parents for successful completion of convocation and successful functioning of NIT at Jote except the road condone which is under construction.
