NEE&MWS appeal the state govt to maintain strict law against illegal earth cutting

NAHARLAGUN, JUNE 3 ; The North East equipment & machinery welfare society (NEE&MWS) has appeal the state government to workout strict law and measures to contain the illegal earth cutting going across the state which is affecting the natural environment and also detrimental to the landslide and floods.

NEE&MWS Chairman Lokam Talo inform the media that even if we are passing through the critical time of covid 19 pandemic since 2020 and 2021 but at the same time we are also passing through a serious trend of illegal earth cutting across the state. The illegal earth cutting is a big threat to the natural environment and forest, flora and fauna and also detrimental to the landslide and flood.

We have made a huge loss and loss of life and property due to flood and landslide and also several building, property like roads, bridges, residential and other in such flood and landslide and it can be stopped if we are united and a strict law is there and also it need to be implemented in later and spirit. Talo said.

We have submitted a memorandum in this raged in 2020 that all the heavy machinery and earth movers operating in state either the owner are locals other otherwise need to be registered and regulated properly.

He said adding that all such excavator, earth movers owners deploying their machines in respective circle, district need to taek permission from the respective administration based on the work order/tender, plan of building and institution and infrastructure or else the misuse of the such machinery cannot be stopped and the landslide and flood ad other manmade disaster will continue to occur and witness of loss of life and property will continue.

Since the Itanagar capital complex having the highest population and the law need to be taken up strictly by the capital administration so that the message went around the state and nearby state in clear and loudly that if anybody tried for illegal earth cutting will have to face legal action. Talo further congratulated Talo Potom on being appointed as regular DC of capital complex and hope that the illegal earth cutting menace may be properly checked and stopped immediately.
