NDRF, SDRF requisitioned to trace out ill-fated vehicle drowned in Pare river

ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Papum Pare Police has requisitioned NDRF & SDRF to search and retrieved the ill-fated Maruti Alto vehicle, which has been suspected to have been involved in the incident of drowning of 23-year-old woman identified as Yanu Marde alias Pujar in Pare river, said Papum Pare SP Taru Gusar.

Gusar informed: “The incident of drowning was reported on October 11 from nearby Lekha and Tomru in Doimukh circle in which a woman has been suspected to have drowned. However, a man managed to escape. The body of the woman was recovered from the Saturday market area on October 12 morning,” he said.

“In the first instance, some fault play was smelled and three boys were apprehended. The apprehended youths were Tado Nguri, Rakesh Karbak and Biku Takar,” the SP revealed.

A complaint was lodged on Oct 11, 2023 by the father of the deceased, Nyopok Marde, and a case (No. 63/23) was registered at Doimukh PS under section 302/34 accordingly. Based on the complaint, an investigation is in progress. Other angles and aspects of the case are being investigated, the SP said.

Materials recovered from the place of occurrences have been photographed and seized. Post-mortem examination has been done and the report is awaited, he said.

The NDRF and SDRF have made their best efforts but could not locate the vehicle. However, the vehicle needs to be retrieved from the river site. Experts and divers are being engaged to locate and retrieve the ill-fated vehicle, the SP further said.

“All the three persons, who accompanied the deceased, have been apprehended and are under police custody for further investigation by the Doimukh police station,” the Papum Pare SP added.
