Mountaineer Tagit Sorang flagged off for Mount Everest international joint expedition held

The Chairman Sports Authority Arunachal (SAA) byabang Taj and Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) Secretary General Abraham K Techi flagged off an Mountaineering Tagit Sorang for Mount Everest Expedition 2021 which was organized by Atu Sengey Mra Family.
Orphanage Tagit Sorang was selected in 2018 but due to financial constraint he could not participate in the mountaineering event earlier, said first mountaineer of the state Tapi Mra while displaying the equipment that was required during the expedition.

Tagit Sorang has already completed basic Mountaineering course in 2013 and advanced course in the year 2018 from National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), he added.
Now he has been selected for International Mt. Everest South Expedition 2021, where he would be climbing up Mount Everest World’s highest peak in Nepal height 8848.68 meters from sea level.
Tagit would be completing the expedition in 64 days, informed Mra.
“Tagit will be starting his journey from 5 April onward toward Nepal,” said Mra.

Urging Tagit not to be lazy and to engage in adventure sports that will bring happiness, improve leadership skills, and help to become physically fit, mentally tough, and spiritually strong, chairman SAA, Byabang Taj said, “To conquer the competition of Mt. Everest is not an easy task,”.
Advising Tagit to work hard to achieve the set target, he also appealed to the entire 49 NGOs that affiliated with the SAA to work for the greater interest of sports persons in their respective areas.

AOA Secretary General Abraham in his addressing to the gathering on the occasion appealed to the state government to make a policy for the mountaineer, so that they can be given job reservation.

“State government should frame a policy and programme to felicitate the mountaineer during Independence Day and Statehood day like they do the honour to the rest of the sports personnel,” said Abraham.
SAA Vice Chairman Sanjiv Tana Tara, Youth leader Sika Gapak among other officers from the sports department were present on the occasion.
