Manoj Singh || NAHARLAGUN, JUNE 12 : The local denizens of the twin city of the capital complex have appealed the concern of the PWD division and contractor for early completion of the arch bridge being constructed on the river Pachin connecting helipad on one sided and Borum on other side.
The Ajin colony welfare association President KIpa Ajay while speaking to media on Sunday that the under-construction bridge is taking time beyond limit. All time limits have been completed and still the bridge is under construction. He said.
It is not a matter of concern that design and other issues of the bridge and other get on changing but everyone wants that a beautiful bridge would come up and the commuters who are facing lots of inconvenience and untold suffering on NH-415 in traffic jam wasting lots of precious time can be reduced and suffering are minimized. He said.
Earlier few years back there was no problem but when the National Highway-415 package-B has been announced and this road may play a vital role to reduce the traffic flow of NH-415 and the commuters who have to go to Railway station, Yupia and Borum can avail the road vice versa and the burden of NH-415 is reduced and the work on four lane can be taken up, at present there are huge rush and the traffic on NH-415 in city is crawling and everyone is exhausted due to pathetic condition of the national highway-415. He said.
We are happy that the Pema Khandu led government has time and again sanction fund as per requirement and the contractor and PWD department need to understand the pain of the commuters who are waiting for several years to travel on the said bridge and cross the Pachin river by vehicle through arch bridge is immediately fulfilled. he said.
Ajay appealed to the Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso and Capital Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom to intervene and direct the PWD department and concerned contractor to complete the work immediately keeping in view the pain of the commuters and general public on NH-415 adn TAH.
It is to mention that the construction work of the double lane arch bridge on Pachin river connecting NH-415 near Helipad in Naharlagun and TAH near Borum is in progress and several machinery and manpower are being deployed and work is in progress.
The workers at site informed that due to bad weather and heavy downpour the progress of the work has been badly affected.
