ITANAGAR, JAN 19 : The Itanagar municipal corporation (IMC) on Thursday has sought support and cooperation of the denizens of Itanagar capital complex (ICC) in making city clean and hygiene to welcome the delegates of G20 country to G20 summit in state in March 2023. Informed Itanagar municipal corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phasang.
Phasang was speaking to reporter on the garbage management at Bank Tinali in city during the awareness programme on solid waste management on Thursday afternoon. Mayor said that garbage management may be challenge but it can be overcome only if all the stake holders including the businessman, shopkeepers, housewife’s, Heads of offices and business establishment do not throw garbage’s here and there and disposed off the solid waste garbage in dustbin and IMC vehicles which moves in city every early morning. It would be better if the garages are properly disposed off so that we cannot see unnecessary garbage of colony/sector streets and highway across the capital complex. He said.
If we all change our mindset and also change our daily habits of deposing off the garbage and waste materials, the capital city will be clean and hygiene and we can really make change and our city Itanagar will become clean and hygiene and beautiful and peaceful city to live in. Said IMC Mayor Phasang.
The G20 country meeting is supposed to be held in March last week and the IMC has been given the charge of cleanliness with other line department and so we have started with the awareness and hope that this awareness will really benefit and make change in the mindset of the denizens of capital complex and maintain the tempo of cleanliness of our own compound and house and disposed off the garbage’s properly to make out city clean and green. Added Mayor Phasang.
Several activates including street show and cultural activities mark the day and various places which include at Nyokum Lapang and Bank TInali while the same awareness programme will be held at other places of Itanagar, Naharlagun and other parts of capital complex for much awareness among the citizens of capital complex.
