Itanagar, November 4, 2023 – In a significant political development, the State BJP organized a joining ceremonial programme at BJP HQ in Itanagar today. The highlight of the event was the formal induction of Atum Welly, a senior and experienced leader of Arunachal Pradesh, into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The event witnessed the presence of several eminent BJP leaders, including State President Biyuram Wahge, State General Secretary (Organization) Ananta Narayan Mishra, and others.
State President Biyuram Wahge welcomed Atum Welly, hailing it as a homecoming for the former Minister. He noted that Atum Welly, a prominent political figure in the state, has previously served as an MLA and Minister in the BJP government. Wahge expressed his appreciation for Welly’s decision to return to the party and his faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Ananta Narayan Mishra, the General Secretary (Organization), also welcomed Welly’s return to the BJP, emphasizing the party’s growing strength with over 18 crore members. He recognized Welly’s vast experience and leadership roles in the party and believed that his rejoining would further strengthen the party’s position in the state.
Atum Welly, while expressing his happiness on returning to the BJP, described it as a “homeback.” He had briefly stepped out of the party but remained connected with the Sangh Pariwar and BJP. Welly shared his experiences as an MLA, Minister, and various positions within the BJP party. He also commended Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his contributions to the all-round development of the state.
Tadar Niglar, the State General Secretary, provided a detailed account of Atum Welly’s political journey, highlighting his active involvement since 1998 and his significant contributions to the development of Arunachal Pradesh. Welly had been elected consecutively as an MLA and had served as a Minister in various governments, contributing to the political and social organizations in the state.
The return of Atum Welly to the BJP is expected to strengthen the party’s presence, particularly in the Pakke Kessang District and throughout Arunachal Pradesh. His experience and leadership are seen as valuable assets for the party in the run-up to the 2024 elections.
