Felix witness screening of films on Unsung heros at DKCC, IG Park

ITANAGAR, Aug 30: The screening of films on unsung heroes of the freedom struggle was held at Dorjee Khandu Convention hall here on Tuesday evening attended by people from all walk of life.

Speaking on the occasion, Home minister Bamang Felix said that State’s unheard freedom fighters facts would be included in the school textbooks soon.

School going children of the state must be acquainted with the role of ancestors, how they fought against the British during the freedom fight and sacrificed their life, he added.

Stating with the help of various community based organisations the report of unsung heroes of the state is in the compiling process, the minister said, an unsung heroes film would be made after the compilation of the detailed documents.

He also requested the denizens of the state to watch television serial ‘Swaraj’ which would feature on every Sunday from 9 am to 10 am.

During the programme Rani Abbakka Chowta, the first Tuluva queen of Ullal coastal Karnatak’s  film was featured who fought against the Portuguese in the latter half of the 16th Century.
