ITANAGAR, Aug 11: The state weightlifters in a national championship recently had bagged 10 medals including two gold, three silver and five bronze medals.The National Weightlifting Championship event is being held at Sports Authority of India, Patiala from 9th to 12th August.
Bengia Tani won gold medal in ( 61 kg), while Tadar Tagin (49 kg) bagged silver medal, and Golom Tinku (55 kg) and Shankar Lapung (61 kg) won bronze medals respectively in the men’s youth event.
In the girl’s youth event, Boni Mangkiya (55 kg) bagged gold and Balo Yalam (59 kg) bagged bronze medal.
Sandhya Gungli (40 kg) and Tadar Neha (45 kg) were placed in girl’s 5th and 6th places respectively.
In the men’s junior, Charu Pessi (61 kg) won the gold medal. In men’s senior, Markio Tario won silver medal in senior inter state and bronze in senior overall. Lalu Taku (81kg) won bronze in senior national inter state championship, according to Arunachal Olympic Association vice-president Abraham K Techi.
