ITANAGAR, The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) on Friday declared a 12 Hour Capital Bandh on the 23rd November to press their charter of demand which has been put forward by the union time and again.
In a press conference held on Friday afternoon, ANSU President Nabam Dodum said that the union has taken such measures citing the unfulfillment of the union’s demands regarding the 14 point representation that the union served to the Education Minister on 11th August, last and the FIR registered against the Central Executive Members (CEM) of ANSU on 19th November, last.
ANSU alleged that the FIR against the Central Executive members (CEM) was malicious and fabricated without any iota of truth and an attempt to frame the CEM on the day the union leaders were invited by the Chief Ministers office.
Dodum further informed that the union had served a 15 day ultimatum to the Chief Minister on 1st November, demanding immediate transfer of the Commissioner of Education, Niharika Rai from the state and immediate dropping of the criminal cases against team ANSU.
Reportedly, ANSU held a meeting at its office premises on 14th November, last during which the decision was taken to call for a 12 hour bandh in the capital complex as the first phase of the protest on November 23 from morning 5 AM to 5 PM in afternoon.
