All main markets and commercial and business establishments remain open on Sunday

ITANAGAR, MAY 31 : All the main markets and shopping complex and shopping mall and business and commercial establishment in the state capital to remain open on Sunday informed Capital DC Talo Potom and IMWA President Dado Tajuk.

Capital DC Talo Potom in an interaction to media said that maximum percentage of population of state capital and twin capital city are employees either in government or private sector and they get one day holiday on Sunday of which several government servant office are close even on Saturday and remain close, there are two days off and if the markets remain close the employees and their family get lots of trouble in purchasing items and commodities from the market and have to go to other city and nearby town of district and even to nearby towns in Assam. He said.

“I have suggested to the Itanagar Market welfare association (IMWA) leaders to think about the purpose and I am happy to inform you that the IMWA team has announced that the markets in Itanagar will remain open on Sunday and the employees will have the benefit of the market open on the holiday.”, DC added.

Meanwhile, IMWA President Dado Tajuk informed the media that my team has almost five months running and we have made several reforms in the market area right from opening of market to closing and selling in markets area with proper license and other. We are having proper coordination with the capital district administration , capital police and Itanagar municipal corporation for smooth functioning of the markets in the late evening. He said.

There are few important problems being faced due to the absence of parking space in front of business establishments and shops and hope that the administration and government do something for it so that the traffic and parking issues are regulated, rationalized and resolved. He said.

The most important decision which has been taken is to open the market on Sunday. For the public convenience and the difficulties faced by the government employees and the shopkeepers due to shutter down/closing of the market on Sunday, the closing of the market which was on Sunday has been shifted to Wednesday of every week instead of Sunday with effect from June first week. He said.

As per order of Capital district administration for business establishment along the National Highway-415 to remain open upto 10 PM in summer, the time table for opening  of IMFL, Beer Bar, bond and distillery has also been specified by capital administration and  all the shopkeeper are requested to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their premise and disposed the garbage at proper location/vehicle. The IMWA President added.
