AAPDBC sit on dharna at IG Park demanding disbursement of pension of widow, people with disabilities and elderly people

ITANAGAR, 29 Sep: The All Arunachal Pradesh Divyangjan Beneficiaries Committee (AAPDBC) on Friday began with its first phase of democratic movement in the form of dharna at IG Park to press its charter of demand to the state and central government.

AAPDBC Chairman Nido Teji informed that we are Divyanjan and have equal right and privilege in society but the beneficiaries schemes and facilities which we should get form the state government being beneficiaries is not at par with the guidelines. The payment is not made timely and even in some case it is not made for several months and even in years.

The pension for divyangjans (persons with disabilities). The pension for widow, pension for old aged are not properly disbursed to the beneficiaries and several proposal and memorandums has been submitted to he department and government. He highlighted that from 2018-19 to 2023, there would be more than 200 crore rupees owed to divyangjans in the state. We have got information through RTI also and all these shows that the state government is not caring its beneficiaries carefully or else the beneficiaries could have received the full payment. We have been from pillar to post and no clear-cut and tangible  action is being taken up. He said.

There are fifty-nine thousand three hundred (59,300) beneficiaries in the state. In 2018-19 and since then all the three pension scheme has been not properly granted to widows, disabled persons and elderly peoples. He said.

We have submitted memorandum to the chief minister and there is no higher authority than Chief Minister of state and we shall always approach to the state government being our parents and guardian. The state government is not listening to our grievances and responding to our memorandum so its no option left but to go for democratic movement. Since the government are our parents and guardian and we have no option left to go so we are sitting on dharna here at IG Park. He said.

We have seen the media interaction of the Chief Minister on Thursday with the media at golden jubilee banquet hall and chief minister was saying that he has announced the scheme and beneficiaries for us but it should be the endeavors of his cabinet colleague, his officer and official to act upon but it is disheartened to inform that the officers are doing heir work remain unsolved and we are continue to suffer and since we are specially challenged people where will we go. He added.

Therefore, we appeal again and again with folding hands to the young chief minister who is visionary to solve our genuine grievances for our better future and livelihood.
