NCC felicitated the next of kin of the fallen hero’s in defending the nation  

1 Arunachal Pradesh Bn NCC, Group HQs (Tezpur) under the aegis of NCC Directorate NER organized ‘Shaheedon Ko Shat Shat Naman’ to honour the supreme sacrifices of the fallen heroes in defending the Nation. Next of Kin (NOK) of the fallen heroes were presented with the ‘Plaque of Gratitude’ by NCC cadets invarious part of state today on Monday.

In Capital here at Naharlagun the event commenced with the arrival of the next of kin of the fallen hero Lance Naik Patey Tassuk of 17th Regiment, The Brigade of Guards who made supreme sacrifice while serving in 21 Rastriya Rifles Battallion in Kashmir Valley during Counter Insurgency Operations. Veer Nari Mrs Takiu Ari was welcomed with the bouquet presentation by the NCC cadets. The NCC cadets of the Naharlagun unit  elaborated the events which led to the supreme sacrifice of the fallen soldier and a ‘Plaque of Gratitude’ on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and entire Armed Forces Family was given.

Two more such events were organized in remembrance of  fallen heroes who made supreme sacrifice in Lower Subansiri district, one at Hapoli and another at Yazali where ‘Plaque of Gratitude’ was presented to next of kin of families of Sepoy Mihin Begang of 5 Assam Rifles at Mihin Begang Higher Secondary School and Rifleman Taba Kara of 16 Assam Rifles at GHSS Yazali on 20 Feb 2022 by NCC cadets of 1 Arunachal Pradesh Bn NCC.

The aim of ‘Shaheedon Ko Shat Shat Naman’ is to honour the supreme sacrifices of the fallen heroes in defending the Nation. It was launched on 26th January 2022 and Next of Kin of more than 5,000 fallen heroes were presented with the Plaques of Gratitude by NCC cadets across the country as on date as part of the celebrations of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ coinciding with the 75th Anniversary of India’s independence. 

The event will continue till 15 August 2022. During this period, the NCC cadets will felicitate the NOKs of all 26,466 fallen heroes whose names were etched at the National War Memorial.

The event was attended by NCC cadets, Officers and personnel of the 1 Arunachal NCC Battalion. 

The senior officer of NCC 1 Arunachal Battalion addressing the function and briefed the gathering about the aim of the event and its importance towards the awareness and respect by the citizens for its martyrs. 

‘Shaheedon Ko Shat Shat Naman’ event being organized today as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations across the country would deservedly bring awareness among the population about the supreme sacrifices of the hero’s who laid their lives selflessly in the line of duty and also showcase cultural diversity which strengthens Unity in diversity of our great nation.
