Min of Sci & Tech is setting up a first of its kind Centre of Excellence at Kimin

NEW DELHI, Jul 26: A delegation comprising of MPs Tapir Gao, Nabam Rebia along with Chairman Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology Bamang Mangha, Director-cum-Member Secretary CD Mungyak and Dr Debajit Mahanta, Project Director, DBT- APSCS&T Centre of Excellence for Bioresources and Sustainable Development met the Union Minister of State (IC) for Science and Technology & Earth Sciences Dr Jitendra Singh here on Monday.

The delegation apprised the union minister about various activities undertaken by Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology and the progress made in the field of Science & Technology.  The delegation also apprised the progress of the project on “Establishment of Centre for Bioresources and Sustainable Development as a Centre for Excellence at Kimin, Arunachal Pradesh”.  They also submitted representation for resolving the issues including Annual Core Grant received from Department of Science & Technology, government of India, sanctioning of the pending projects submitted to DST and releasing of the last instalment of grant by the Department of Biotechnology, inauguration of the newly established Centre for Excellence for Bioresources and Sustainable Development at Kimin.

In a release the department informed that the union minister has expressed his happiness about the progress made so far and also opined that Arunachal Pradesh has a vast potential to be developed further. The minister also assured to visit the state in the month of October to inaugurate the Centre for Excellence for Bioresources and Sustainable Development.
