ITANAGAR, The former president of the National People’s Party’s (NPP) state unit, Gicho Kabak who breathed his last on Friday morning was laid to rest with great honour and respect in presence of hundreds of people from irrespective of their post and affiliation paid floral tribune to the departed leader at his Chimpu resident.
Late Kabak was 57 and is survived by two wives, four daughters and two sons. He permanently belongs from Radum village, Kamporijo Circle, Kamle District died due to cardiac arrest on Friday last.
He was instrumental for the rise of BJP and NPP in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
The family sources informed that he served as Sub Inspector, state police department , Chairman Vigilance Committee Arunachal Congress 1998-2000, General Secretary (Admin) BJP Arunachal Pradesh 2000-2003, State President NCP Arunachal Pradesh 2003 to 2011. Member Consultative Committee FCI of Ministry of Consumer Affairs food and public distribution Govt of India for Arunachal Pradesh for two terms 2005 and 2009, he also served as National Vice Chairman kishan cell NCP 2009, National Secretary NCP 2011-2013 and State President NCP Arunachal Pradesh 2013-2017
Late Kabak was a great social worker and has been associated with several social welfare organisations which include State President of Indian Christian Association Arunachal unit 2013. Vice President Arunachal Pradesh Adiwasi Vikash Parishad.
He was appointed as State President NPP Arunachal Pradesh 2017 to 2021 and later as National Secretary NPP from 2021-till date.
The last rites was performed at his Chimpu residence where hundreds of people from various walks of life took part and paid floral tribute to the departed soul to rest in peace in heavenly abode.
The prominent personalities who paid tribute to the departed leader which include state BJP President BIyuram Wahge, BJP General Secretary and Namsai MLA CZ Namchoom, Raga MLA Tarin Dakpe, Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, former MLA Tani Lofa, former Minister Anok Wangsa, PRI leader Taro Tagia, Arunachal Cricket Association and Camdir Welfare Society President TC Tok and others.
Several leaders of various political parties, PRI leaders, businessmen, social workers, student and youth leaders, community leaders, well-wishers, family friends and relatives were present on the occasion during the last journey.
It is to mention that besides being associated with several organizations, Kabak had contested from Raga assembly constituency in 1999 as an independent candidate, and then on NCP tickets in 2004, 2009 and also contested to Lok Sabha.
Earlier Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma, Former state NPP vice president Nima Sangey, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president and Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki, state NPP President Mutchu Mithi and among others has expressed grief at Kabak’s sudden demise and pray for eternal peace of departed soul.
