CM Pema Khandu led state cabinet approved for creation of two new district Keyi Panyor and Bichom. Will be taken in upcoming assembly

ITANAGAR, Feb 05: The State cabinet gave its clear nod for the creation of two new district namely Keyi Panyor and Bichom districts by maintaining traditional boundaries of both districts’ jurisdiction. Three crore seventy three lakhs has been annually.  

Keyi Panyor district would be bifurcated from Lower Subansiri district as Yachuli as its headquarter. the traditional boundary shall be respected and prevail by both the communities. The Bichom district by bifurcating West Kameng and East Kameng district with Lapungpong, said home minister Bamang Felix, while briefing media persons at Arunachal Pradesh Civil secretariat at Chief Secretary conference hall on Monday evening. 

The BIchom district demand was a long felt  of Sajolong, Puroik and (Kro) Aka communities. 

Arunachal Pradesh (Reorganization of Districts) Amendment Bill 2024 for creation of two districts will be tabled in the ensuing State assembly budget session, He added.

For the proposed districts 67 posts have also been created consisting of Group – A & B non gazetted, C, MTS and ALCs, informed Felix.

The Panyor district with around 25 thousand population will function with the administrative centres at Yachuli ADC, Yazali CO, Paramputu CO, Kora CO, Deed CO and Pistana CO as headquarters and Circle Offices respectively. 

Informing, Bichom district will be created by carving out from East & West Kameng district, minister said, from Nafra ADC headquarter 11 villages, Khazalang CO – 9 villages, Sirlang CO-7 villages, Lada CO-17 villages and Bana EAC – 11 villages will be merged to Bichom district. Total 20 villages form West Kameng and another 7 villages while 17 villages are joining to new district from East Kameng. The villagers are being merged form 8 Bameng and 11 Seppa assembly constituency. He said. 

The affected elected MLA and Minister in Pema Khandu led government including  ministers for Sports & Youths Affairs Mama Natung, Education & cultural affairs minister Taba Tedir and Agri & allied minister Tage Taki expressed their gratitude towards the decision of the cabinet which was chaired by chief minister Pema Khandu.

In the meantime, to strengthen the fire and emergency services in the state, the cabinet also approved for creation of 53 additional posts of various categories in the department of fire and emergency services under the Regional Connectivity Schemes (RSC-UDAN) including establishment of new Judicial Courts with the creation of 103 posts of various categories, Arunachal Pradesh Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill 2024. He said.

Beside the creation of two district there has been few important decision has been taken place and it will be taken up in the upcoming assembly session. The Home minister who is the government spokesperson added.
