Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated bank and post officer at NIT Jote campus and unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi

Manoj Singh || SANGDUPOTA, DEC 23 : The Union Minister for Earth sciences Kiren Rijiju on Saturday has inaugurated the Canara Bank branch and Branch post office in NIT Jote campus and also unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi amid huge gathering.

Speaking a public gathering on the occasion in NIT campus, the Union minister Rijiju said that the facility was much needed and after the shifting of the NIT at permanent campus these facilities are being created for the better service of the faculty, staffs and locals of the nearby villagers of the locality. A Kendrya Vidayalaya has also stared functioning and is a happy moment for all of us. Earlier there were problems and the main was the road and in due course of time the road from state capital has been almost done and is a great help for all the staffs and local people. The road is the state highway no-1 and in due course of time the road will be connected with Pakkekessang district. Said Rijiju.

It has made me understand that there has been problem of land of the NIT and I have requested the NIT Director and local MLA Tana Hali Tara to send me I writing and I will see that the issue is resolved and slowly the institution infrastructure issue also gear up for requirement. He said.

The union minister Rijiju said that the statue of Mahatma Gandhi will provide positive energy to the people. He said.


The bank and post office which was necessary and been inaugurated today would benefit to the NIT and locals of the area.
BSNL is providing connectivity services and airtal and others will also made available. We are trying to bring mobile network to all the villagers and by February and March may reached to the target to all the villagers of state.
The establishment of NIT has got birth by me and it was proposed at Gangtok but in same year I get approval for a separate NIT for Arunachal Pradesh. Keeping in view it was decided to established at Jote and I am happy by seeing its initial stage to upto date. He said.


The purpose of the establishment of Jote NIT is to make this NIT as one of the best educational institution of state, region and country. He ask the local to have guarantee for its safety and security. He said.


it is happy to know that 82% placement for the students is a remarkable achievement and hope that cent percent students of the Jote NIT get employment and become self sustainability and a bikshit Bharat.
The coming 25 years would be 100 years of India independence and our country has to become rich and it would be possible only if all people of country join hands together for all round development of state and country. He said.


The local MLA Tana Hali Tara in his address said that * the NIT has reached to its permanent campus. It was inaugurated on 18th August 2010 and temporally working at Yupia. After the agreement for three years it was functioning for around 10 year’s and in 2021 and on your advice this institution was shifted. The BJP government has asked me to first shift the campus and the union minister has put up efforts and fund was approved and the campus was shifted in 2021. The NOT is a public property of state and once it seems that it was likely to be under enquiry but today it is functioning smoothly and it was only possible by the full support of the central government and state government and the locals. He added.

He requested the union minister intervention in solving the land issue of the NIT Jote. The local MLA also requested the union minister to issue direction to the state government in the land issue fo the NT. Added MLA Hali.

Reoffering to the killing of former MLA of 56-Khonsa, Rijiju said no one will be speared the state government the central government for NIA probe and the NIA may do so and arrested and booked as per law each and every separators who were involved in the killing of Late Matey.

NIT Director Prof Ram Prakash Sharma among others address the gathering. 

Several eminent personality were present including the senior faulty of several NIT including Kharagpur, district administration led by DC Jiken Bomjen, heads fo department from all the department, ubli leaders including ZPM HIna Camdir TOk and others were present on the occasion. 

The statue of Mahatma Gandhi was donated by Ranka public charitable trust, Jaipur, Rajastha.
