SAGALEE, JUNE 11: The former Chief Minister and Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki on Saturday has distributed power tillers to the needy farmers and emphasized to work hard to become self-sufficient and self-sustaining.
The distributed was done under ANKY 2021-22 at Mini-secretariat, Sagalee In presence of Sagalee ZPM Techi Serbang, DAO Yupia M.Piel, Sagalee Circle officer Khoda Onya and staffs of several department and locals. The scheme was financed by APRB Sagalle.
Addressing the occasion, the former Chief Minister told the beneficiaries that this programme is meant for self-reliance of farmers by increasing agricultural productivity and production in line with the Atma Nirbhar Bharat. While giving away the inputs he urged the farmers to use the machines purposefully and kept it maintained as one has to pay back the loan amount with interest whether the asset is generating income or not and advising them not be a defaulter of banks. He said.
He was also concerned with the rate of interest which is more than 12 % and assured to take up the matter with concerned authority.
The majority of the population of Sagalee sub division is agrarian which spread from Toru-Laptap to Leporiang- Parang . This scheme will have a dissembling impact on the economy of this sect of population. He thanks the Agriculture department for the programme and for selecting the genuine beneficiaries. Tuki added.
The DAO Yupia Maze Piel briefed the gathering about the Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY) scheme and explained how to apply for the scheme. He also said that the fund under ANKY: 2022-23 has been allotted on Assembly Constituency wise at the rate Rs. 100.00 Lakhs per constituency and requested the potential applicants to make sure they have guarantor when loan amount is beyond Rs.1.60 lakhs for individuals and beyond Rs.10.00 lakhs for SHG so that their applications are not rejected by the banks.
The ZPM Sagalee Techi Sarbang , Sagalee Circle officer Khoda Onya and SDAO Tare Kahi Sagalee also spoke on occasion.
