Tax & Excise Inspector Tamik Taki body found from river Siang at Tuting, Murder case registered

Naharlagun, May 7: A highly decomposed dead body of a man which later identified as Tamik Taki (42) working as an Inspector Tax & Excise, Itanagar was retrieved and recovered from Siang river by Upper Siang district police with the help of locals in a mysterious condition here on Friday evening. Said SP J Basar.

Basar said that the body was retrieved from the Siang River near the Advance Landing Ground (ALG) Tuting in Upper Siang district and examined and was unidentified, but it was identified only today when the wife of the deceased came and identified him.

The body was in mysterious condition and a case of murder has been registered vide Case No. 2/2022 under section 302/201 IPC. Accordingly, an investigation has been initiated, SP added.

After conducting Post Mortem examination the body was handed over to the family member for the last ride, he said.

Earlier, the deceased went missing from 22 April and his mobile phone was switched off from 24 April, the missing report was filed at Itanagar Police Station by the family members on 28th April. Said Itanagar Police station OC Inspector Phasang Simi.

When contacted the Tuting Police station OC SI, Pema Jamsten said that the body was retrieved and at the time of retrieval from river Siang  the hand of late Taki was tied with Iron string  and Stone.
