APWWS and Commissions Unite Against Child Abuse in Schools

Itanagar, Dec 12: Today, members of the  Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society held a meeting with the Members of the Arunachal Pradesh State Human Rights Commission and Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

The purpose was to address and express profound concern about the persistent issue of child rights violations, particularly recurring instances of child abuse within educational institutions in the state. 

The APWWS team spearheaded by President Kani Nada Maling, Secretary General Tojum Potom, Chief Coordinator Yomjum Geyi Jongsam, Convener Mamoni Riang, Member Hage Kami, and Tage Yakang, convened a crucial meeting today with key officials. 

Prominent figures, including Bamang Tago, Member of the Arunachal Pradesh State Human Rights Commission; Jalas Pertin, Joint Secretary; and Khoda Rakhi, Member Secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, came together to address the pressing issue.

The meeting delved into a comprehensive dialogue, aiming to formulate effective strategies to combat the persisting problem. The primary objective was to ensure the safety and well-being of children in educational settings, fostering an environment conducive to learning.

Expressing deep concern, the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society underscored the need for collaborative solutions to protect children’s rights. The session emphasized the urgency of proactive measures to address these violations, highlighting the crucial role of authorities in safeguarding the vulnerable population.
