BALISO, Jun 29: A group of people from neighbouring Assam reportedly carried out illegal trespassing into Arunachal territory here under Dissing Passo circle of Pakke Kessang district on Monday. According to locals the group comprising around 30 people from Assam brought three tractors and started ploughing in the agriculture land of two local individuals.
A team of officials led by ADC Seijosa TR Tapu and OC Padi Paying visited the area on Tuesday to take stock of the situation. Talking to the media the ADC said that as per initial report it looks like an individual problem and not exactly a border dispute. “People living on both sides share excellent relations. The trespassing incident is unfortunate. Case has been registered and law will take its own course of action,” he said.
There is no law and order problem as of now in the village, however I have informed the incident to DC and SP Pakkekessang who are in touch with the Biswanath district administration, Assam. ADC added.
A police outpost with security personnel is already there at Dipit and we are in touch with local leaders and urge them to maintain peace in the area.
OC Padi Payang briefing the press said the incident seems to have arisen from a local dispute. “A resident of Assam was working as an employee in the agriculture field of one local Arunachalee and used to live in the village in a kutcha house. The duo had some dispute over money and livestock. It was partially resolved after the intervention of Gaon Burahs. After that the employee shifted out, taking all his belongings. But a few days later the house where he used to stay was burnt down in a fire,” informed OC. This is when the employee lodged a case in Assam against his employer and a few others. After that a group from Assam came and illegally trespassed into the land of two local individuals. Police have registered a case of trespassing at Seijosa PS against persons Sarsen Tokbi and Taneswar Ronghang on the basis of the FIR. OC said.
Another counter FIR has also been received from the local against the said employees who were working in the agriculture field of the local. OC added.
We have carried out spot visits and enquiring into the matter is under investigation. OC further said.
Meanwhile the ALL DISSING-PASSO WELFARE SOCIETY (ADPWS) the parental organisation of Dissing-Passo Circle has expressed its deep resentment over the trespassing incident. The society alleged that one Ramnath Terron, who is a GB led the trespassing act.
“This has been done with a mala fide intention to create tension like situation and disturb the prolonging relationship between people of Arunachal Pradesh & Assam. Such anti-peace elements must be condemned from all corners of society,” the society said. They have drawn the attention of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Pakke- Kessang District Administration towards the problem and sought appropriate actions as per suitable laws.
