Tender process of 3 component out of 4 for devt of Parshuram Kund is underway

TEZU, SEPT 4 ; The tender process for development and renovation work of Parshuram Kund in Lohit district is underway and the contractor has been directed to start the work. Informed the Tourism, Transport CA & Land Management Minister Nakap Nalo.

The Minister is on a three day tour in Eastern Arunachal Pradesh including East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai district to inspect several defunct, ongoing projects related to tourism development and also several projects undertaken by the department in the area. The minister is accompanied by several top officials of the Tourism department including Tourism Advisor and MLA Laisam Simai, Secretary Sadhna Deori, Director Abu Tayeng, Dy Director and Nodal Officer (PRASAD scheme) Gedo Esi and other officers of the department.

The team inspected several tourist resorts, tourist destination sites, home stay and upcoming tourism projects and took stock of the ground reality and gave direction to the respective officers and district administration.

Speaking to press, Minister Tourism Nakap Nalo said that, Arunachal Pradesh has a vast potential development which include cultural tourism, adventure tourism, eco tourism, wellness tourism, promotion through sports, tourism throng natural resources exploration and exposure of traditional and cultural heritage of state to world over. The tourism sector has vast scope for economic development and employment opportunities and sustainable development through several opportunities like construction of home stay, construction of infrastructure for way site amenities for tourist visiting state, proper functioning of tourist route in all 12 tourist circuits of state approved by Ministry of Home Affairs.

The government of India has approved the central sector scheme PRASAD for development of Parashuram Kund amounting to 37 crore. The work has been divided into four components and a tender has been awarded for three components which include the civil works while one component will be done soon. The state PWD (SID &P) is the implementing agency and the plan and design and master plan has been known to us by the Chief Engineer at the site today. “ I have directed the officers of the PWD to start the work so that it could be completed in time and quality. The work will start from October. This scheme has been taken up in PRASAD scheme-I and the second schemes may be take-up in other places and as of now half of the fund for the this project has already arrived and on completion of the project and submission of UC the rest of the fund would be released by Tourism ministry Govt of India. ”. Nalo said.

I have physically inspected the site for development of the Parshuram kund site and other amenities for the foreign, national and local tourism visiting the pilgrim site. I have also interacted with the locals of the area and directed the Deputy commissioner to liaise with the pilgrim seva trust and locals of the area so that the support of all stakeholders are taken for smooth completion of the project. Nalo said.

The state government is encouraging home stay and wayside amenities so that the tourism can avail the local facility and also enjoy the nature of the state and go back with fond memories of the vast nature. He added.

Tourism Advisor and Jairmapur MLA Laisam Simai informed that we will monitor the project and Nodal officers for the said project have been deputed who will look after it. We will see that several tourism projects of the state are renovated and put into use for the tourism promotion and development of the tourism industry for which we are taking spot verification of these projects in several parts of the state.

PWD, CE (SID & P) Atop Lego inform about the detail of the project and said that several amenities are being developed including parking facility, waiting hall and rest room with a capacity of 1000 people, public convenient, cyber café, small huts, souvenir shops , small shops for promoting of locals items and selling thereof which would promote the local for vocals.
