Rebia, Wahge and Aruni take part in celebration of former PM Atal Bihari Bajpayee birth anniversary

ITANAGAR, MP (RS) Nabam Rebia, BJP President Biyuram Wahge and state BJP Mahila Morcha President Higio Aruni take part in celebration birth anniversary former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal BIhari and also distribution of Atal award to 15 selected women elected leaders of state at a function organized by Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Morcha here at a city hotel 

Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Nabam Rebia in his address said that we are celebrating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atalji who was a great leader of the country. We need to learn from his works what he did for the country. His tenure as a Prime Minister was exemplary and remembered for good governance and we celebrate Good governance day. He said. 

Women are nowadays getting lots of support and appreciation from all corners and womens are playing a great role in nation building, peace, progress and development of the country. He said.  The women are having lots of positions and places in rural development and are in Panchayati Raj Institution and other places. He said. 

We should not always give our introduction to others but our work will itself be introduced by the works being carried out for the development of state and welfare of people, people will recognize our social works so we should always do something for others and continue to do so. He said.

The long pending demand for women’s reservation at centre is still there but in our state, the government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu is giving due attention to women in all fronts. He lauded the works being carried out by the Mahila morcha leaders and urged upon to continue to serve the people. Rebia added.

BJP President and Pakkekessang MLA Biyuram Wahge attending the function as guest of honour said that without youths and women participation no party will be strengthened and strong. The role of women and youths is most important in today’s world as women and youths play a vital role in nation building and participating in development and welfare of community and society, he said.

While lauding the Mahila Morcha contribution for strengthening the ruling BJP in state, Wahge said that the contribution of women cannot be underestimated and thanked each and everyone those who are actively working in the field of social works and nation building. Wahge further urged upon the mahila morcha leaders to create mass awareness on dozens of centrally sponsored schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu in rural areas and villages.    

State BJP Mahila Morcha President Higio Aruni in her address said that on the discretion of national office, the Atal award is being given to elected leaders who are working in the field of social works and public welfare and on several selection guidelines are there for selection of the beneficiaries. The award is being given to the women to motivate them for social works and public welfare. This year 15 people have been selected who are elected at various levels which include MLA, ZPC, ZPM, GPC, GPM from various parts of state. 

She said the programme is a celebration of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal BIhari Bajpayee and the distribution of the award is part of good governance day and week from December 23 to 27. She added.    

Several ZPC, ZPM, GPC and leaders of Mahila Morcha among others were present on the occasion.
