KIMIN, JUNE 4 : The locals of Upper Jumi and Lower Jumi (Tanio Hapa) area of Kimin and Kakoi circle of Papum Pare district has appeal the education department for immediate and proper repairing and maintenance of Schools for proper functioning and proper education of the childrens.

Locals said that the school has been functioning for decades but the infrastructure and furniture and other equipment has gotten outdated. Most part of the school building has been damaged in due course of time and out of use and beyond use. Though students are being imparted education but with hardly two and three teachers respectively and it is a matter of great concern when the country is celebrating the azadi ka amrit mohotsava and the state is celebrating golden jubilee. They allege.

“ We are equally concerned that the state has declared the year of education but the condition of the schools of Upper Jumi and Lower Jumi (Tanio Hapa) is in bad shape and one can understand how the students are being imparted in hardly few rooms which has been repaired but still lots to do”. the locals said.

Papum Pare DDSE TT Tara clarify that due to Covid 19 pandemic the repairing and maintenance of these schools was not taken up and also due to paucity of funds. Today I visited the school with local MLA Tana Hali Tara and found that three rooms were repaired as of now. The new session is yet to start so there are no students but teachers are present at school. He said.

I will review the proposal and will  check that the proposal is properly sent to the authority for consideration and sanction on priority so that we can take up the renovation, repairing and maintenance.

However, Kakoi ZPM Tai Sangte has appealed to the education department for  proper allotment of all the schools in the circle with a proposal for boundary fencing/boundary wall to protect the school and form any attempt of encroachment.

Papum Pare DC, Sachin Rana in an interview has said that the district administration will naturally take action if any report of land encroachment of land of educational and health institutions is received from any place.

The case of land allotment is being considered on a case to case basis. DC added.
