ITANAGAR, NOV 24 : A student pursuing his education in NIT, Jote, Sangdupota circle in Papum Pare district of state commit suicide in his hostel. Informed Papum Pare district police sources.
The police sources inform that today at around 13:30 hrs a telephonic call from NIT jote has received about suicide committed by a student in the Lohit hostel. The decease has been identified a Chandan Kumar Das ,a student of civil Engineering Department, Age around 21 yrs, S/O-Juran Das,Permanent resident of Badiya, District-Jamui, Bihar has committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel Room.
Accordingly a police team led by SI M Hussain under close supervision of SDPO Balijan visited the PO,photograph taken, Examined and statements were taken from the hosteller ,room mate and Inquest was done in presence of Magistrate.
A UD Case No.08/22 ,U/S 174 CrPC has been registered .Body has been shifted to RKM Mortuary ,PME will be conducted on Friday at TRIMS. After conducting all formalities the body will be handed over to the relatives for conducting last rites at his native home at Jamui in Bihar. The police added.
The reason for causing the suicide is yet to be known and matter is under investigation.
