ITANAGAR, The 2nd state level Para badminton championship organized by Paralympics association of Arunachal (PAA) on Sunday here has been inaugurated by Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, WRD and Environment & Forest Mama Natung in presence of host of dignitaries and sports lovers.
Addressing the inaugural function, Natung said time has come every section of society has to join hands for the promotion of games and sport to bring laurel for state in all games at various level including national and international. Our youths have lots of potential and they can play well but need better guidance and technical support and leadership and assured to provide all types of support to all sports association. He emphasis that all the sports association maintain the practice of all their players and technical’s before participating in the national and international games. He said.
We should target the international event like Olympic from our state and we need groom our players to that level and hope if special and technical training are given to our players, they can also win several medals like this time the Indian Paralympics team has win 19 medal. Natugn said.
Guest of Honour Bamang Tago, Director Sports Tadar Apa, Director Sports Authority Gumnya Karbak, Director SJETA Yumlam Kaha, PAA President Nabam James, Vice President Kon JIrjo, Secretary General Techi Sonu, Paralympics committee of India (PCI) Observer Vikesh Kumar Mahato among other address the inaugural session.
All total 16 participants from various district are participating and the Arunachal state badminton association (ASBA) and department of Sports and SAA is also coordinating the event by supporting technical’s.
A memorandum has been submitted on the occasion to the Sports Minister Mama Natung by PAA President Nabam James for promotion of state Paralympics games of all 22 sports discipline, establishment of Paralympics office in capital complex, organizing of destruct level games, gym equipment for divyangjan/para sports person and sought fund for the purpose.
