ITANAGAR, May 11: Legendary singer Talut Mize has passed away at a private hospital in New Delhi Wednesday morning.
The sexagenarian, who suffered from prolonged cardiac problems, died of coronary surgery related complications. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
A native of Mirku-Daapi village, Pasighat in East Siang district, late Mize was not only a renowned singer but also a music composer and a writer, who modernized Adi songs and made them popular.
Meanwhile, Karpung Kardung Folk Music Academy chairman and noted artist Delong Padung mourned the demise of Talut Mize, saying that the young artists of the state will always follow his path. “Late Mize has changed the trend of Adi modern songs and his demise is an irreparable loss for the Adi society as well as the entire state”, Padung said.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju condoled the death of the legendary singer Talut Mize, extended his deep condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace in heavenly abode.
In Rijiju’s social media he said, “I’m extremely saddened to hear the passing away of legendary singer of Arunachal Pradesh late Talut Mize. We grew up listening to his mesmerizing voice and those soulful songs. He will forever live in our hearts and his unforgettable songs will continue to enthrall our lives. May almighty give strength to his family to bear the massive tragedy and pray for the peace of his departed soul.”
East Arunachal MP Tapir Gao also condoled the death of the legendary singer, extended his deep condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace in heavenly abode.
In Gao’s social media post he said, “I am deeply saddened to know the passing away of the legendary Adi singer Shri Talut Mize. His passing away is a great loss for not only Adi community but also to the whole of Arunachal Pradesh. My deepest sympathy goes to the bereaved family during this difficult time. May his good memories give them comfort to overcome the loss. Also my deepest condolences to the whole Mize family. May his soul rest in peace.”
Senior BJP leader Techi Necha also condoled the death of the legendary singer, extended his deep condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace in heavenly abode.
