IMC Mayor Tame Phassang lauds the role of artistes in connecting society 

NAHARLAGUN, MARCH 19 ; The Itanagar municipal corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang has lauded the role of artists in connecting the society. The team led by Phasang attended the grand finale of the Arunachal singing start here in a city hotel.

Addressing the grand finale, IMC Mayor said that it is a happy moment that several artists are coming out from our state and they have a huge potential to highlight the needs of society through their talent. There is huge potential in our youths and they can compete at all levels in every field either in games and sport, talent hunt, music and dances but need some technical guidance and training and support. He said.

The state government is giving a platform and due care to our youths so that they can become self reliant and self sustain their talent and they  can become self employed and can also employ others with their skills. He said. 

He shows serious concern on the rising trend of drug abuse cases and appeals to all sections of society to extend helping hand in fighting against deadly drugs which are damaging the healthy life of our future youths. He further said that everyone should come closer in the field of culture, music and sports to become fit and fine with a healthy body and sound mind.

He thanked the organizing committee for organizing such an event to promote youth artists of state and assured all support from his end.

Mrs Arunachal1st runners up Pura Papi Singhi spoke on the occasion as a special guest and motivated the artist community to become more efficient.

Legendary artist Taba Yall Nabam, Nabam Bijnoo, Bengia Tabb, Ashok Sonam, Jeli Kayi,  Arunachal singing star Chairman Matam Rimo, Coordinator D Taba Achu among others also address the function and given away the prizes and trophy and cash award to the six winners of various category 

It is to mention that the selection was held through online and competition was also held through online during the Covid pandemic.  

A total 500 candidates have participated through online and in the later stage six finalists have to take part in the grand finale which is held on Saturday on March 19 in city hotel at Naharlagun, the six finalists which include Dr. Perde Lombi, Bamang Joram, Gele Kamki, Mayer Bagang, Marge Doke Lendo and Nomi Potom.
