ITANAGAR, Jun 10: The minister of state (independent charge) for sports and youth affairs Kiren Rijiju has said that even though he did not personally visited during Covid 19 pandemic, he regularly kept in touch with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and several district administration other officials to ensure that state do not face any crisis due to covid 19 pandemic and lockdown.
“Official tour programme during pandemic time is not good. Tour events cause large gatherings and this might have led to spread of Covid 19. From Itanagar to border districts, I have regularly reviewed the situation and remained in touch with deputy commissioners to get ground updates,” said Rijiju. He also said he has arranged many essential items needed to fight Covid 19 for the state. The minister informed that the government of India is prioritizing vaccinating the entire citizen of the country by December end.
He further inform that I have been in constant touch with the state government and district administration with regards to several welfare schemes and other needful items which need to be given to the needy people of the state and country during the pandemic.
