YANGTE, NOV 7 : The high level team on disaster management led by Longding MLA and Advisor to Disaster management Minister Tanpho Wangnaw visited disaster hit Yangte to inspect the damaged caused due to cloud burst followed by flash flood which has caused trail of devastation recently has caused untold misery to the locals.
The high-level team led by Tanpho was accompanied by Disaster management Secretary Dani Salu, chief engineers and Heads of department of various department including PWD, PHED, Power, WRD, RWD, health, Education, agril and allied department and others visited various parts of Yangte township area dn other places hit by flash flood and faced disaster on October 28th.
The high level team was also accompanied by all heads of department led by Deputy Commissioner Higio Tal and others met maximum numbers of victims at respective places and interacted with them and assured them of support and help during the restoration and rehabilitation.
Speaking to the media, Advisor disaster management Tanpho said that the state government is with the victims. As the information of disaster management, the local MLA of both Palin and Tali has visited the affected place on footwall and taken stock of the situation and has helped them whatever was possible with them. The situation on October 28th and 29th was worse but during the period the road and power supply has been almost restored but many things are to be done. Said advisor.
As the preliminary report of the disaster was made to the state government, the department under the leadership of Chief Minister has released an amount of Rs. 50 lakhs as immediate relief to the victims. Though an assessment was received by the district administration but after our today visit we feel that re-assessment is needed and directed the Kra Daadi district administration to revisit the area and send re-assessment report to the state government for consideration. The proposal will be scrutinized under the guidelines of SDRF and it will be disbursed as soon as the approval of the state government is made. I will recommend the state government as and when the report is received. He said.
The chief minister and myself has planned to visit the Yangte but due death of his elder brother and Lumla MLA Jambey Tashi he could not make it possible to reached however he has directed us to visited and inspect most of the possible affected area and we are have been able to reached out to most of the affected area. However we have requested the district administration with the support of local administration to submit the details of the affected and the loss and damage caused due to the disaster. Added Tanpho.
He further appealed to the locals and affected people to cooperate with the administration and officers of various departments in restoration and reconstruction of the affected and damaged projects in the area. He assured all support of the Pema Khandu led state government in providing relief and restoration work.
Local MLA Balo Raja speaks in detail of damage caused due to flash flood and cloudburst. He expressed his serious concern on the massive damage caused to the general public due to the disaster. He assumed full support of the administration and government in restoration work. He also appealed to the general public not to Create political issues but requested to support and cooperate with all affected people in restoration and reconstruction work.
