Framer community to celebrate farmers day on Dec 23rd in befitting manner at state capital

ITANAGAR, Dec 16 : The Arunachal Farmer’s Union (AFU) has announced to celebrate Kisan Diwas (farmer’s day) on 23 December next at Dorjee Khandu convention hall in befitting manner to boost up the moral of the farmer community of state.

Informing this the AFU general secretary Michael Sidasow said during a press conference held at Arunachal Press Club (APC) on Friday. The day will be beneficial to all those who will participate the celebration and know several rules and regulation and benefits of centrally and state sponsored schemes for the farmers community.

There are many centrally or state sponsored schemes which were meant for the farmers but due to lack of proper communication channel farmers could not avail the benefits, said Especially the rural areas population rely on agriculture and horticulture for their survival, therefore AFU would carry out an awareness campaign across the state, so that they can avail the government schemes, he added.

A number of schemes under state and central sectors have been implemented to improve the socioeconomic condition of the farmers, however far flung areas farmers are deprived of benefits, claimed AFU.

“people living in urban area mostly rely on the farmers to get food grains, fresh food, so celebration of farmer’s day is a tribute to the farmers who put their entire strength to produce food products,” said Sidasow.

During celebration agriculture & allied minister Tage Taki would be gracing the occasion as chief guest and directors of Horticulture, agriculture and fisheries as a resource person.

He further appeal the farmers community across the state to take part in the celebration in their respective area and also those who wish to attend at state level may come and join at Itanagar.
