ITANAGAR, One person has been charred to death in a devastating fire mishap in Koloriang under Kurung Kumey district on intervening night of January 2nd-3rd. informed Koloriang Police.
Koloriang Police station OC Inspector, Gejum Basar inform that it is an unfortunate incident and we have lost one person in the said accident.
The information was received from IB Colony at around 12.10 midnight that a major fire accident has taken place. The fire was so devastating that it swallow a big house and every household and personal belongings of the family. He said.
All the family members were not in house during the incident however the family head who was in the house was charred to death and the body was later retrieved from the scene. The deceases has been identified as Nangram Tache, 48 years, son of Late Nangram Tagung and was a PHED staff. OC said.
After registering a case of unnatural death at Koloriang Police station wide case No-01/2022 u/s-174 CrPc and all legal formalities including post mortem has been done and the body has been handed over to the family members for conducting last rites. OC said.
Since the matter is under investigation so as of now nothing can be said about the fire accidents. OC Basar added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner and other senior officer including SP etc have visited the spot and console the family members. Immediate relief items were provided. Sources said.
