Khonsa, 22 July: In a jaw-dropping operation, the fearless Deomali Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) busted two drug peddlers on the Margherita-Deomali route near the 2 No. coffee board area, Deomali. Tirap Police, led by the unstoppable Inspector T. Wangpan, and backed by the vigilant SP Tirap, Rahul Gupta, IPS, were behind this triumph.
On a tip-off about drug traffickers making their way from Margherita, Assam, to Deomali, the ADS sprang into action. The result? Two culprits in cuffs! No-nonsense Huntu Gogoi, aged 40, hailing from NCI Colony, Deomali, and the crafty Dipok Borah, aged 38, from C.F Colony, Deomali, were the ones caught red-handed.
During a ferocious search, the squad uncovered a hidden soap case packed with around 12 grams of suspicious Heroin, adding more fuel to their mission. With unyielding resolve, they seized the illegal substance, the ride of choice, and all other incriminating evidence right under the nose of Dr. B. Kamlo, CO cum Executive Magistrate.
Now, under the iron grip of the law, these lawbreakers will face justice! The Deomali Police Station registered a rock-solid case under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act against the two culprits. There’s no escape from the long arm of the law!
