DC Talo Potom raise concern on rise of Covid positive cases in ICR

ITANAGAR, 14 May: The Itanagar capital region (ICR) Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom said that Covid positivity rate is continuing to rise in the ICR. Briefing the press here at his office on Friday the DC said as per the report of the health department the Covid case and death related to it is still rising in ICR.

On the issue of further continuation of the ongoing lockdown, the DC said based on a report of the health department the district magistrates take decision on declaration of containment zone(lockdown). He also appealed to the people to follow lockdown measures and said police and magistrates on the field are working hard to impose containment measures. Further DC Potom shared that three more vaccination centres will be opened in the ICR based on the requirements  made by the health department.

“The new vaccination centres will be at the ESS sector and Niti Vihar in Itanagar and another one at Lekhi. If the health department requires more centres we are ready to provide,” said DC. Further he expressed serious concern over the report that few anti-social elements are unnecessarily harassing the trucks carrying essential service items to ICR.

“Public should not harass those essential service carriers. If they find anything wrong, please report to the authorities. I make it very clear that district administration will take strong action against those who harass them,” said DC Talo Potom.
