Class VIII question paper leaked, DEE order for cancellation; tomorrow exam to continue

ITANAGAR, FEB 23 : The class VIII annual examination question paper of Social science of government schools has been leaked from some quarters and the department has cancelled the examination.

Speaking to the media, Director of Elementary Education, (DEE) Otem Tayeng informed that information of question paper leakage was received at around 12.20 PM on Wednesday. Accordingly the matter was informed to the higher authority and an order for cancellation was issued immediately and also directed not to evaluate today’s examination. He said.

It is a matter of great concern, we are equally concerned for our childrens and accordingly the matter has also been referred to the government and accordingly a direction has been issued to the concern DDSE to lodge FIR to the nearest police station for legal action. He said.

The whole process for conducting re-examination of the social science is being done and the next date will be announced by the department and accordingly it would be informed to the DDSE’s. the Director said adding that tomorrow examination will be continued and direction has been issued accordingly.

However the sources informed that the question paper leakage of Class VIII has been reportedly surfaced form West Kameng district around two hours ahead of starting of the social science examination on Wednesday, as per information the question paper of Class VIII was circulating in the whatsaap group at around 10.35 AM and on receipt of information the officers of education department of the West Kameng district  come into action and constituted a committee and started verification and after a preliminary inquiry, the report was informed to the education department authority concern for further action.
