ITANAGAR, The 15 educated youths who were selected from various parts of state and department of environment & Forest were given under training on the skill development courses on green skill development programme (GSDP)- ENVIS “Forest Fire Management” were given away the certificate of completion at a simple ceremony here on Thursday.
The course on forest fire management green skill development programme (GSDP)- ENVIS “Forest fire management” was Supported by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change (MoEF& CC), Govt. Of India through Arunachal ENVIS hub under Dept. Of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, the training was organised by Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation Ltd. Itanagar.
The valedictory function was organized at APFC which was attended APFC Managing Director T. Gapak as chief guest and Environment & Climate Change Dohu Robin as guest of honour and APFC General Manager Dr. G Murtem and U.V. Singh, Technical Asstt as special guest.
The chief guest, guest of honour motivated the youths to remain vigilant and work as a consultant to several NGOs for protection of environment & Forest and wildlife. The due appeal the youth of today to have some of the responsibility to create awareness on the global warming and climate change and its mitigation to reduce the pollution.
Dr. Murtem informed that the certificate course would help one to get opportunity through bank and also during the recruitment in forest department, and also can become a consultant for the villagers, district and state in protection of environment and forest.
He inform that the course which began on November 18 for around one and half month. During the study the students the trainees visited several forest project, water conservation site for case study. They also got answers to several question on the topic of protection of environment and forest and forest and fire management.
The trainer and experts from various institute of state including form Department of Forest research institute, NERIST, forest department, APFC Ltd, Van vigyan Kendra and others will impart on the subject. Dr Murtem added.
