Capital Police arrests 4 persons, seized 243.73 gm suspected Heroine

Naharlagun: On source information on 15th March, Naharlagun Sub Division Police team chased a vehicle in NH 415 Nlg to Papunallah and arrested one local boy with eight tubes weighing 10.72 Gm of suspected heroin. During the operation, Insp Khiksi Yangfo, SI SS Jha and few others received minor injuries as well and two civilian cars were got minor damages. Accordingly registered a case in Papuhill Police Station Case No-13/22 u/s 279/336/337/427/353 IPC r/w Sec-21(b)/27A/29 NDPS Act*
Further on the disclosure statement of the arrested accused, police team led by DySP Dekio Gumja SDPO NLG, Inspr Khiksi Yangfo, Inspr Damgen Dulom, SI S.S Jha, CT Kanto Samyor, CT Sandeep Yadav, CT Lham Tashi, CT Debojit Borah, CT Lucky Tacho and L/CT K.Sumnyan under the close supervision of SP Jimmy Chiram IPS arrested the following 3 other supplier from Naharlagun and Hollongi area after successful raids were carried out.


According to information disclosed during interrogation, a team arrested Amir Ali, 28/M, S/O- Sharab Ali of Sonapur, Bihpuria, Assam from Barapani, Naharlagun with 3 packets of suspected heroin weighing 94.64 grams. Later, based on further information, Anil Basumatary @ Bhaity, 34/M, S/O- Sitaram Basumatary, Village- Jorabari, PO/PS-Gohpur, Biswanath, Assam and Kirod Islary, 32/M S/O- Noresh Islary, Village- No-2 Bikrampur, PO/PS- Gohpur, Biswanath, Assam were arrested from Rajgor, Hollongi while carrying 138.35 grams of suspected heroin.


In total 4 arrests have been made in the case along with 243.73 gms of suspected heroine. These arrests would be useful for Capital police to curb the drug inflow. It is a part of the ongoing drive to control the drug menace in the capital Itanagar. Capital Police has till date registered 7 cases, arrested 15 and recovered 300 gms suspected Heroine, 10.5 gms suspected brown sugar and 750 gms suspected Cannabis.

SP Capital Jimmy Chiram while lauding the efforts of the team highlighting their efforts despite of physical risk. He warned drug peddlers and suppliers to stay from ICR. Capital police further appeals to drug abuse victims who want to kick off the habit to register themselves to their nearest police station and be part of the ongoing drive of Capital Police to rehabilitate young drug abuse victims.
