Capital Police arrests 2 two-wheeler lifters including 1 from Assam, recovers scooty 

NAHARLAGUN, Feb 15: A team of Itanagar police station, led by Officer-in-Charge, Inspector K. Yangfo, arrested two two-wheeler lifters and recovered a stolen scooty.

Apart from the OC, the Itanagar PS team also comprised Sub-Inspector B. Pertin, constables Tago Ligu, Sandeep Yadav, Tayo Bodo and Nabam Chakam and the operation was carried out under the supervision of Capital Superintendent of Police, Jimmy Chiram and Kamdam Sikom, Additional SP, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Itanagar.

The accused were arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged on February 14, 2023, said police sources.

The FIR was received from a complainant alleging that his Yamaha Ray Rz blue scooty had been stolen by unknown accused from near Hotel Marpi, Akashdeep, Ganga Market.

Accordingly, a case was registered.

After registration of the case, the police team started investigation and with the help of surveillance and other technologies, the team learnt that the stolen scooty was taken towards the District Jail before disappearing.However, the police team succeeded in apprehending two accused persons, identified as Ranjit Singh, 18 years, a resident of Bihpuria in Lakhimpur district of Assam and Rakia Natung, 18 years, a resident of Jollang, Itanagar and recovered the stolen property, the police sources added.
