Buddhist community celebrates Losar with traditional fervor and gaiety

Itanagar, The Losar Festival is being celebrated at the onset of the New Year in the traditional schedule by the Buddhist Community in state and has been participated by hundreds at Gonpa campus at 0 Point Tinali in city since morning.

Dr. Lekhi Wangchuk, a senior member of the community inform the media that the festival is being celebrated to welcome the year traditionally and is being celebrated for 15 days. Today being the 1st days so everyone wants to be a part of the celebration and offer prayer for wellbeing of the family, community, society and also pray for the wellbeing of all human being on the earth.

The eve of the Losar festival is also celebrated with memorial food offerings for the departed loved ones.

The day began with offering prayers amidst chanting by lamas (priest) and hundreds of people from Buddhist community and others takes part. The executive members capital complex unit of Buddhist organisation attended  celebration.

Various programme and activities has been chocked out including traditional games and literary activities in next 14 days followed by cultural programe and expected a large gathering. Added Dr. Wangchuk.
