BJP fields Tsering Lhamu for Lungla by-poll
ITANAGAR, Feb 01: The BJP has fielded Tsering Lhamu as the party candidate for the upcoming by-poll to the Lungla Assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district.
The central election committee of the BJP today announced the names of its candidates for the ensuing by-polls to the Lungla Assembly constituency in Arunachal and Sagardighi Assembly constituency in West Bengal.
For Sagardighi Assembly constituency, the BJP has fielded Dilip Saha. Tsering Lhamu is the wife of former Lungla MLA Jambey Tashi.
The by-poll to Lungla Assembly constituency was necessitated due to the death of MLA Jambey Tashi on November 2, 2022. Jambey Tashi, who was 48 years old, passed away after a brief illness at a private hospital in Guwahati.
The last date for filing nomination is February 7, 2023 and the date of scrutiny of nomination is February 8, 2023 while the last date for withdrawal of nomination is February 10, 2023.
The date of the poll is February 27, 2023 while the counting of votes will be held on March 2, 2023.
