Beautiful terminal building  with latest technology of Tezu airport is ready for inauguration: MP Gao

ITANAGAR, MARCH 4 : One of the beautiful and main terminal building of the Tezu airport of Lohit district in Eastern part of state is almost completed and ready for inauguration tentatively on March 31st. informed Arunachal East MP and Tezu Airport advisory committee Chairman Tapir Gao.

Gao inform that on Friday I have visited the Tezu airport in Lohit district and inspected the infrastructure created with all stake holders and officers of airport authority of India (AAI) and others. I find that the main and new terminal building for the passengers has beautifully come up and almost completed and ready for inauguration. The airport authority of India (AAI) officials have tentatively kept the date of March 31st as date for inauguration and finishing works are in progress. MP Gao said.

Keeping in view for the convenient of the passengers it is necessary to maintain necessary arrangement and amentias up-to-date so that the passengers do not face difficulties and inconveniences on their arrival and departure. He said.

Tezu advance landing ground (ALG) and also functioning as airport is already functioning and catering to the needs of the area but now it is becoming a good asset and latest well equipped terminal building is almost completed. It is hopeful that all the finishing works is completed before March 31st and after that it may be inaugurated by March 31st tentatively and is a success story for the Lohit, Anjaw, Namsai district and eastern part of state. Said MP Gao.

The important points which were discussed and raised were widening of  approach road from TCP junction  to new terminal building in order to tackle the traffic congestion problem, construction of approach road from both end of the airport to reach the new Air traffic control (ATC) tower and technical block which is required to be taken up, In order to ensure timely service the AAI residential facility is essential and required and for the said purpose the land has to be acquired and some alternate accommodation has to be considered, solid waste management plant necessary to make the airport environment free, provision of uninterrupted power and water supply, stoppage of various development being taking place adjacent to airport boundary in view of security point of view. He said.

Whatever facility required for the airport users and also likely to affect directly or indirectly need to taken up and considered on priority. When the airport become fully functional there shall be requirement of medial and paramedical staffs and fire brigade and fire and emergency personnel’s were discussed. He said.

For convenient of the passengers and airport users for reaching form Tezu town to the airport I have directed the Deputy commissioner to make it necessary arrangement of Taxi, auto and other facility to travel back to their places since there is no such services available at Tezu airport and passengers has to wait for vehicles. He said.

As the passengers may face problem for payment for ticketing and also at the stalls so I have requested the station manager to provide ATM facility on the city side of new terminal building. Said Gao.

In future for landing and to accommodate Boeing/ airbus aircraft for higher passenger capacity and future requirement, the runway is required to be extended and keeping in view the future requirement which may grow in time to come, I have suggest to propose for extension of runway and other facility land acquisition is essentially required. The MP Gao added.

The connectivity sector in state is increasing and it would be an important that if such connectivity issues are established and resolved the tourism, hospitality industry and other economic activities will grow. The East Arunachal MP and AAI advisory committee Chairman further said.    

Lohit Deputy Commissioner Shashwat Saurabh, SP Minjom Ete, AAC Member Kalley Rijiju, DPO Sanjay Phukan, Airport director Amarkant L Sonawane, DGM (Civil) of M/S TCIL Uma Shankar Choudary, GM (project) of M/S ABPL Sanjay Agarwal, Manager (E-C) Radhakrishna Budumuru, Manager (ATC) Amit Kumar Thakur, AM (E-E) Prabhat Sharma and representative of M/S FlyBig Manager Shashi Bhushan and representative of M/S Alliance Air Senior manager Laittangsush and other were present in the 1st meeting of the Tezu airport advisory committee (AAC).
